PELVIC FLOOR PHYSICAL THERAPY

Treatment for pelvic pain, vaginal pain, rectal pain, incontinence (bladder leaking), constipation, buttock pain, hip pain, and more!

TAILBONE PAIN

Many muscles of the pelvic floor attach to the tailbone.  If you have pain in this area while sitting or moving, it could be caused by pelvic floor dysfunction

VAGINAL AND RECTAL HEAVINESS, PROLAPSE

Prolapse and/or a feeling of heaviness in the rectum or vagina can be caused by pelvic floor dysfunction.  Weakness or tightness of the pelvic muscles are a common cause of these symptoms.

VAGINAL OR RECTAL PAIN

Just like any other muscles, the muscles around the rectum and vagina can become weak or tense which can lead to pain over time.  A pelvic floor assessment can determine if your pain is associated with your muscles or joints!

What is pelvic floor physical therapy?

The pelvic floor is made up of joints, tendons, ligaments, muscles, and bones just like any other part of the body.  Weakness or increased tension in this area can cause incontinence, constipation, rectal pain, vaginal pain, feeling of heaviness in the vagina or rectum, tailbone pain, sciatic-type pain, and more!

In pelvic floor physical therapy, these muscles are assessed for weakness, tightness, impaired coordination, and more to decide which activities will be helpful to decrease your symptoms.
